Opera PMS and comparable property management systems
Network and workstation configuration around Opera PMS and similar hotel property management systems used for reservations, check-in and folios. Application bugs escalate to the vendor.
Hotel & Lodging IT · Vancouver, BC
A hotel or lodging property runs on more interdependent systems than almost any other small business: a property management system tracking every reservation and guest folio, a keycard and door lock system, guest Wi-Fi across every room, and payment terminals at the front desk, restaurant and spa all at once. A front desk that cannot check a guest in because the property management system is slow is an immediate, visible problem. Hexafusion supports Lower Mainland hotels and lodging properties with infrastructure that keeps these systems working together, not as separate problems each waiting for a different vendor.

Guest Wi-Fi networks sized and segmented so a fully booked property does not bring the network to a crawl, kept separate from front desk and payment systems.
Network and workstation support for electronic keycard and door lock systems, including the interface those systems maintain with the property management system.
Network segmentation and configuration for front desk, restaurant and spa payment terminals, built around PCI DSS requirements.
Connectivity support for the channel manager and booking engine integrations that keep your property's availability synced across booking platforms.
Licensing, backup and workstation support for revenue management and back office accounting systems used by hotel management.
PCI DSS applies to hotel payment processing across the front desk, restaurant and any other point where a card is charged, and sets specific network segmentation requirements that matter more in a hotel than almost any other small business because of how many payment points exist on one network. BC PIPA governs how you collect, use and disclose guest and employee personal information, and PIPEDA applies alongside it for activities in the course of commercial activity. Guest registration information, including identification collected at check-in, deserves particular care in both storage and retention. This is general information, not legal advice.
We start with an AI readiness assessment that looks at where front desk, reservations and management teams could use AI tools without exposing guest data. We set up Copilot and other approved AI tools securely inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, configure data protection so guest registration and payment information cannot leak into a public AI model, and train staff on safe use. For properties that want to go further, we build custom assistants, including our own AI phone assistant for after-hours and overflow call handling. Any AI build-out beyond basic setup and training is scoped and quoted as its own separate project.
Given the number of interdependent, guest-facing systems most hotels and lodging properties run, properties in this industry often land on Secure rather than Managed, since Secure adds onsite support that matters when a property management system or keycard issue needs a hands-on fix fast. Managed remains our generally recommended plan and can suit a very small lodging operation with a lighter system footprint. Onsite support is included only on our Secure and Enterprise plans; remote-only plans do not include a site visit. After-hours response, a quarterly vCIO review and ongoing testing are Enterprise-only. Servers, including any on-premises server or always-on cloud server you want us to manage, are an add-on and are not included in any plan. See plans for full details.
Do you support Opera PMS?
Yes. We handle the network and workstation infrastructure around Opera PMS and comparable property management systems. Application bugs escalate to the vendor.
Can you size our guest Wi-Fi for full occupancy, not just a quiet period?
Yes. We assess and size guest Wi-Fi for your actual peak occupancy, not an average day, and keep it properly segmented from operational systems.
Do you support keycard and door lock systems?
Yes. We support the network and workstation side of keycard and door lock systems, including their interface with your property management system.
How do you handle PCI DSS across multiple payment points?
We properly segment payment terminal traffic at the front desk, restaurant and any other point of sale from guest Wi-Fi and general office systems, which is a common gap in smaller properties.
Can you help with channel manager sync issues?
Yes. We trace channel manager and booking engine sync failures to their actual network or configuration cause rather than assuming it is a booking platform problem.
We run a smaller property with a lean team. Is that a problem?
That is who we are built for. Most smaller properties have no one whose job is IT across all these interdependent systems, which is exactly the gap we fill.
