Warehouse management systems
Workstation and network configuration, backup and access control around warehouse management systems that track inventory, picking and shipping. Application bugs escalate to the vendor.
Warehousing & Logistics IT · Vancouver, BC
A Vancouver warehousing or logistics company runs on a warehouse management system, barcode scanning infrastructure across a large physical floor, and a fleet of drivers who need dispatch and routing information in real time. The warehouse floor and loading dock are physically demanding environments for networking equipment, and a scanner that loses signal in the back corner of the building can slow down an entire shift. Hexafusion supports Lower Mainland warehousing and logistics companies with warehouse connectivity, dispatch system reliability and engineers who understand how different a warehouse floor is from an office network.

Wi-Fi coverage and network design across the full warehouse floor, including the far corners and racking areas where coverage is hardest to get right.
Connectivity support for dispatch and routing platforms that drivers rely on, including mobile data configuration for in-cab devices.
Network support for dock scheduling and loading equipment systems that need to communicate with your warehouse management system.
Connectivity support for electronic data interchange (EDI) connections with shipping customers and carrier partners.
Device management for rugged handheld scanners and tablets used on the warehouse floor and in vehicles.
BC PIPA governs how your company collects, uses and discloses employee personal information, including driver location and performance data collected through dispatch systems, with PIPEDA applying alongside it for activities in the course of commercial activity. If your company uses GPS tracking or in-cab monitoring, that data collection should be disclosed to employees consistent with BC PIPA expectations around workplace monitoring. If you accept card payments directly for any service, PCI DSS applies to that payment data. This is general information, not legal advice.
We start with an AI readiness assessment that looks at where office and warehouse staff could use AI tools without exposing driver or customer shipment data. We set up Copilot and other approved AI tools securely inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, configure data protection so dispatch and inventory data cannot leak into a public AI model, and train staff on safe use. For companies that want to go further, we build custom assistants, including our own AI phone assistant for customer service call handling. Any AI build-out beyond basic setup and training is scoped and quoted as its own separate project.
Most warehousing and logistics companies land on Managed, our recommended plan: unlimited remote help desk during business hours (subject to our Fair Use Policy) and onboarding and offboarding support for a workforce that includes drivers and warehouse staff. Companies running high scanning volume or wanting faster hands-on response for warehouse floor issues often move to Secure, which adds onsite support. Onsite support is included only on our Secure and Enterprise plans; remote-only plans do not include a site visit. After-hours response, a quarterly vCIO review and ongoing testing are Enterprise-only. Servers, including any on-premises server or always-on cloud server you want us to manage, are an add-on and are not included in any plan. See plans for full details.
Can you fix Wi-Fi dead zones in our warehouse?
Yes. We design network coverage specifically for warehouse environments, including racking and dock areas, which behave very differently from an office layout.
Do you support our warehouse management system?
Yes. We handle the infrastructure, network and backup around warehouse management systems. Application bugs escalate to the vendor.
Can you manage rugged handheld scanners and tablets?
Yes. We bring these devices under proper management so lost or damaged units are easier to track, lock and replace.
What privacy rules apply to driver location and dispatch data?
BC PIPA and PIPEDA apply to personal information generally, and workplace monitoring such as GPS tracking should be disclosed to employees. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can you support dispatch connectivity for drivers on the road?
Yes. We troubleshoot mobile data and app configuration issues that cause drivers to lose routing information mid-route.
We have no dedicated IT person. Is that a problem?
That is who we are built for. Most warehousing and logistics companies have no one whose job is IT across both office and floor environments, which is exactly the gap we fill.
